The Whangie, Trossachs

I went for a lovely walk on Saturday and thought you might like these pictures of the Geological structure that is called the 'Whangie'.It is up above Loch Lomond, near Blanefield. The pictures were taken by a friend....note the lovely blue sky!!

The rock is volcanic and geologists suspect that the rock was split in two by a large earthquake. It certainly seems to look like this. The other theory is that they are rocks that were partially'plucked' away by glaciers.
