Finally, with some dry weather this week, we have been able to use the playground maps.
These are some photos of S1 out mapping the Empty Lands on the map.

This is a copy of the sheet you were given :

MODEL  MAKING , S1 HOMEWORK

1.FIND SOME CARDBOARD BOXES ( perhaps from the supermarket)

2. CUT OUT THE BASE OF YOUR ISLAND OR MOUNTAIN.

3.CUT OUT LAYERS OF CARDBOARD, MAKING THEM SLIGHTLY SMALLER EACH TIME.

4 PLACE THE LAYERS ON TOP OF EACH OTHER, SEPARATING THE LAYERS.

5. USING SOME CHEAP WALLPAPER PASTE, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO MIX IN A BUCKET.

6 TEAR UP PIECES OF NEWSPAPER, PLACE THEM IN THE PASTE, THEN LAYER OVER YOUR MODEL.

7. LEAVE YOUR MODEL TO DRY FOR A FEW DAYS.

8 USING CHEAP WATER PAINTS ,. PAINT YOUR MODEL. REMEMBER TO ADD IN ANY FEATURES SUCH AS RIVERS, CONTOUR LINES, SPOT HEIGHTS etc.

REMEMBER TO LEAVE YOURSELF A FEW DAYS FOR THE MODEL TO DRY BEFORE BRINGING INTO CLASS.

YOU HAVE 2 WEEKS TO DO THIS !! ENJOY!!
