Hope you are all sharpening your pencils , ironing your shirts and making the most of your last few days.
I hope you have had a fantastic summer this year whether you were at home or away abroad.
I have been sooooo lucky with 2 trips away....Madagascar ....and then the Lake District. Both were fab.
Attached are some pics of my trips.....it's okay...none of me in my shorts !!

Geography honours from the Queen
Congratulations to the RSGS President, Professor Iain Stewart, on being awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
Iain Stewart, Professor of Geosciences Communication at Plymouth University, is a prolific writer and broadcaster who has fronted many of the BBC’s most notable scientific documentaries of the past decade.
Professor Stewart said: “This award was a surprise to say the least, and I am very honoured to have been awarded the MBE. I spend a lot of my time talking about the planet to anyone who will listen, especially pupils studying geography or geology in schools. The message is always about how amazing the Earth is, but also how the biggest challenges we face relate to understanding how it works and what we’re doing to it.”
